The MTB arm of Stock port Clarion have a ride on a Wednesday meeting at the Arden arms in Stockp ort.\n\nFrom their website\n'We meet up every Wednesday evening (at 7pm in car park opposite the Arden Arms in Stockport Town Centre\, behind Asda\, n ext to Matalan) for a 2 hour ride. In the winter these rides are night ride s so bring some decent lights and often muddy. In the summer we make the mo st of the longer evenings and stay out and enjoy the dry dusty trails that little bit longer. These rides usually head towards Werneth Low or the hill s near Marple. There are bits of addictive singletrack that you would never find without our ?local? knowledge.'\n\nIt was a fantastic ride that i rea lly enjoyed. The WAGS + kids can have a walk around the area and enjoy the fresh air. We will have a BBQ in the evening and a few beers. The idea is to travel down on the Fri day (after 3pm) and Return home on the Sunday. We will have 2 nights of par ties and two days of hardcore riding! Cooool\n\nCYB is a truly fantastic pl ace to ride. If your have never been you will have a new experience. After every ride you are left with that 'grin' factor.\n\nWe will be staying in l og cabins at the Trawsfynydd holiday village. I tried to book the bunk hous e but all that is left is a few of the 2 bedroom log cabins. I have just bo oked 2 of them. \n\nFor the Friday and Saturday night its £250 per cabin (i nc £10 for the extra fold up beds). The spare log cabin has a double bed\, bunkbeds and a 2 single fold up beds. With 5 people per cabin thats £25 per person per night. If we get 'cozy' and squeeze in 6 people in a cabin that s only £20.83 per person per night.\nIf you want a cabin all for yourself t hen book now! It is a place to ride with some ups and downs but no big hills. We will be looking at the basic riding techniques. We will learn how to do a s imple decent and how to ride over small drops / steps with confidence. Ther e is also a small section of northshore (wooden tracks) to try. By the end of the ride you should have all the basic MTB skills. I've not rated this ride because of the variety of areas. There is a be ginners section and some MASSIVE drops that would scare the pants off an ex pert rider. So all are welcome (I am bringing my 9 year old son).\n\nWe wil l be spending the full weekend there and sleeping in the travel lodge. You pay £50 for the room and it is possible to squeeze in 4 people! (thats only £12.50 each!). This seems to be the nearest and cheapest hotel. Book HERE. \n\nStarting late Saturday morning 11ish we will do the XC route around Row ney Warren Woods. Those who don't fancy that can go straight to the northsh ore / 4x track for a play. The XC'ers will join you after there ride. The S unday will be a pure play day on the 4x\, duel track\, northsore and drop o ff area.\n\nI have been before having never done a drop or jump. After 2 da ys I did a 8ft drop and jumped the doubles on the 4x track. Its an amazing place!\n\nThere are LOADS of technical areas to play in with drops from a f oot to over 10 foot!
