Glasgow Road Cycling Meetup is funded by Free Wheel North a cycling development charity based in Glasgow. The cost to run the group is £12.50 per month which is £150.00 per year. Donations are appreciated as scarce funds can be re-diverted in to developing cycling in the community. The group does not require a membership fee but donations are always welcomed. Unlike most other groups for walking, this new group is all grade C walks. Nice and easy at an easy pace, geared towards people wanting gentle exercise out in the Scottish countryside. If you're looking to get fitter in an easy, fun, social way with no pressure, maybe this is the group for you, since most of the walks are along country trails and paths that are well defined and range from between 3-10 miles. Hello, we are going to start off with some low level walks of about 5 hours walking around Edinburgh and the Borders. Then as the weather improves we'll aim to go further a field and walk up some Munros. I'm a qualified International Mountain Leader so you'll be in safe hands. For lower level walks its £2 per person for each walk and please ask around for car share availability. I'll try and organise walks on bus routes too. You can bring your dog too! A group for anyone who enjoys mountain biking at Glentress near Peebles, downhill, uphill and cross country. Perfect for those who enjoy green, blue and red routes so beginner to intermediate skill levels. All ages welcome. Bike hire is available at Glentress so if you dont have a bike its fine!
